An old cultural hand embroidered silk apron (skirt) from Romania. It was collected by Dorothea Cassidy in the mid 1900's. Dorothea was an art professor at UCLA and the first president of the Los Angeles Bead Society.
She passed away in 1998 at the age of ninety six. Her collection was extensive and included many cultures.
This apron would have been worn over a skirt with one in the front and one in the back. The embroidery is exquisite and is on both sides which are shown in the pictures. This would be a prestigious addition to any collection.
